About a month ago I posted about how I joined Lending Club as an investor, and I talked about how I thought it was becoming a pretty good way to make a decent return on your money. As with any type of investing it does carry it’s risks, but I believe that it is beginning to show that it is a risk worth taking. As with anything there are greater rewards and pitfalls depending upon how much risk you take on, but even a conservative investor can make 8-9% on their money.

I’ve been using Lending Club for just about a month now, and the four loans I signed onto have now actually been issued to the borrowers. All 4 of the loans have their first payments due within the next two weeks. So I’ll finally be able to see if the risk I’ve taken on through their loans will pay off. Since the loans I signed up for were relatively conservative, being only A and B class loans, I’m pretty sure they’ll pay.

So how am I doing so far? I’ve generated .67 cents in interest on my $100 loan! That sounds about right since my loans carry an APR between 9% and 12%.
