Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. Luke 12:15
While it can be ok to have wealth, and alright to work hard to earn your money, it is even more important to remember to keep your guard up against “all kinds of greed”. It can lurk and sneak up on you, and sometimes you may not even realize you’re being greedy. You just need to have that new digital SLR camera, or need to make a quick bet at the casino on that sure thing (like the Patriots in the Super Bowl this year?).
The only sure thing we have in this life is our salvation in Jesus Christ. Anything else is just dust in the wind.
