A plan to give unemployed workers some help in paying their COBRA health care benefits was extended through February of 2010. The plan will increase the subsidy from 9 to 15 months for workers who have signed up for the COBRA extension. Currently terminated employees are eligible for COBRA coverage for up to 18 months following termination.
