After you vote, head over to Starbucks for your free tall cup of steaming hot coffee as your reward for doing your civic duty!
And remember – we live in the greatest nation on earth, and no matter what happens today, that won't change.
God bless America!
UPDATE: I just got to work after voting this morning. The lines at the polls were long, but not overly long. You had to wait in several lines before you were finished. First you waited in the line to get your voter receipt so that you could get a ballot. Next you waited in the line to get your ballot. Finally after voting you waited in the line to insert your ballot into the counting machine. All in all it took me about 45 minutes to an hour.
On the way to work from voting I stopped at Starbucks to get my free coffee, and guess what? Another long line! Lots of people going to Starbucks this morning to get their free cup of hot coffee. It always tastes better when it's free!
In related news, Washington state election officials said that offering free coffee to voters essentially means you're offering payment for people to vote, which is illegal. In response, Starbucks is offering free coffee to everyone, not just voters. Read the story here.
