It’s that time again, the time when we all wonder – who will be chosen as one of the top 10 posts of the week in this week’s Best Of Money Carnival?  It’s not easy to narrow it down when there are over 50-60 posts submitted every week, but I’m going to do my best!

So here are my picks as the top 10 money posts of the week!

Top 10 Best Of Money Posts

10.  5 Extreme Ways to Go Frugal and Save posted at Financial Highway:  Forest at  Finacial Highway takes a look at some extreme measures that people take to save money.  Then he asks us, what extremes will we go to?

9. 3 Things to Avoid When Buying a Home posted at Two Wise Acres.  Rob talks about some of the things that you need to avoid when buying a home.   Remember, buying a home is a big deal, and you may need to make some changes to your plans because of it.

8. How to Find Unclaimed Money (and Unclaimed Property) posted at Get Rich Slowly:  Susan Howe takes a detailed look at how to find unclaimed property and money that is due to you online.  A must read article for everyone!

7.  Dumber Than Snake Mittens posted at Canadian Personal Finance Blog: Big Cajun Man talks about some dumb things (even dumber than snake mittens!) you should avoid doing with your money.

6.  Lessons from Toy Story 3 -Grow your pennies to infinity and beyond posted at Magical Penny.  Adam spins a tail of how to save money based off of the recent toy story movie. Entertaining read!

5. Three Myths About Earning More Money posted at Free Money Finance.  Ramit Sethi looks at three myths about earning more money that far too many people believe.  By believing those myths they handicap themselves and keep themselves from succeeding.

4. Please Stop Saying: “I Don’t Make Enough Money To Do That!” posted at Enemy of Debt: Brad Chaffee talks about how people just assume they can’t increase their income, without even trying.  He encourages us to find ways to increase our incomes to make things happen!

3. 10 Money Matters to Teach Your Children posted at All About Living with Life: As a new father this one hit close to home for me as I consider what I want to teach my son about life, and money.  There are some great principles found in this post!

2. Money Matters, But Money Isn’t Everything posted at Money Ning.  Money Ning talks about why money is important, but how it isn’t the end-all be-all that we should be pursuing.

And finally our number one post of the week is one that is close to my heart.  I even wrote about a similar topic this week .

The #1 post is:

1. How to Graduate from College without Student Loan Debt posted at Money Help For Christians:  Craig Ford talks about a topic that I believe far too many discount as impossible – being able to graduate college without student loan debt.   If more people took this advice, worked their way through school and did other things to make their schooling less expensive, they’d be much better off.

Congrats Craig on being chosen as the winner this week!

Awesome carnival Peter! I’ve never hosted a carnival, let alone, the best of money carnival, so I can’t imagine just how hard it is to narrow it to top ten. I can assume though that it’s pretty tough. I love the number one post!!! I think it’s definitely the best, and like you said, something that a lot of people just consider to be impossible.

Also, thanks for choosing my article to accompany so many great posts!
