We have recently bought a home and close on it in a week or two. My wife and I have been stationed overseas (USAF) prior to this month . We have been informed that the tax credit date differs for those that were in our semi-uncommon situation. I have not seen any information that would state this clause for those in the military. Is it true that there is a date waiver for overseas service members or is the contract date of April 30th applicable to us also?

Well, here's an ironic twist.... My hsband and I lived together for 3 years. He owned a home that he bought right before we met. I hadn't owned a home since 2000. We became Christians last summer and decided we needed to make our relationship "right" with God. We got married In December. Now we are living in another city due to job changes, my husbands house in California is sitting empty. I would like to buy a house her, but guess what....I can't take the tax credit BECAUSE WE GOT MARRIED! This law penalizes Christians for doing the right thing and getting married. It rewards those chosing to continue living in sin! CRAZY!

Dont get me wrong this is great for first time buyers but giving $8000 tofirst time buyers is 90% of the time just going to benefit those who were thinking of buying an house anyway. I mean $8000 is nice but a mortgage is a huge commitment and considering the economic climate not many people are willing to commit or have the funds for it.

AFTER READING THE ARTICLE, THE ONLY ONES HAVING ANYTHING POSITIVE TO SAY ARE PETER ANDERSON AND TORREY. IF THIS CREDIT DID NOT COME IN TIME FOR YOU TO BENEFIT, ITS OKAY, YOURS WILL COME SOON. I AM HAPPY FOR MY SISTER SHE'S 50YRS OLD. SHE'S WORKED VERY HARD AND WAITED A VERY LONG TIME. I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS AND GOOD SCHOOLS ARE ALSO A LUXURY THAT SOME CANT AFFORD. BUT IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY AND THEN INTELLIGENCE THEN YOU THANK GOD, THANK THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED YOU TO GET THERE AND YOU MOVE ON RESPONSIBLY. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN IMPACT ON SOMEONE IN YOUR PATH IN RETURN.
