Carnival Of Money Stories #11 – Money Quotes Edition

Post image for Carnival Of Money Stories #11 – Money Quotes Edition

I always enjoy reading the posts submitted for the Carnival of Money Stories because so often the topic of personal finance can be so dry, and to be honest, boring. The stories submitted to this carnival quite often have a more personal touch, talking about people’s lives, and their experiences with money. That tends to make it a bit more interesting.

Today I thought I would give a “Money Quotes” theme to the carnival, and intersperse all the great submissions with some money quotes that I hope will make you think and smile.

Thanks to everyone who submitted their posts.  Don’t forget to submit your articles for next week’s carnival, hosted at greenpandatreehouse.com, and check out all past carnivals at the Carnival of Money Stories site.

Carnival Of Money Stories

Editor’s Picks:

Property is the fruit of labor; property is desirable; is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built. – Abraham Lincoln

The Best Of The Rest

Never spend your money before you have it. – Thomas Jefferson

Make money your god and it will plague you like the devil. – Henry Fielding

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something. – Jackie Mason

The mint makes it first, it is up to you to make it last. – Evan Esar

A wise man should have money in his head, but not in his heart. – Jonathan Swift

All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, nor from want of honor or virtue, so much as downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation. – John Adams

Good stuff… to it I will add this John Adams quote:

arise not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation,
nor from want of honor or virtue, so much as downright ignorance
of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation.”

Great job as always! And I’m digging that Thomas Jefferson quote, even though he died with lots of debt ;)

Yeah, i left out the whole “he died with lots of debt” part. Kinda ruins the thought behind the quote :)
