Better is the poor who walks in his integrity, than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich. Proverbs 28:6

Sometimes we are presented with opportunities to make money  in ways that aren’t completely legitimate.  It could be anything from returning a product to a store where it wasn’t purchased,  to stealing something that isn’t ours and selling it.  This verse talks of how important it is to have integrity, and how if you don’t have integrity, having a fortune doesn’t really matter.

The book “The Millionaire Mind” found that having integrity may also be an important part of being successful.  A survey of millionaires found that a majority of them believed having integrity was crucial in their success.  In fact to them it was one of the more important things.

So, while being poor with integrity may be better than being rich without it,  having integrity can help lead you towards success.  Something to think about.

Warren Buffett said, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it.” I think this speaks to integrity, and we all know how successful Buffett is.
