		<description>I absolutely echo yor call to action here.  I used to volunteer at a local food pantry and quickly realized just how much need is out there. 

One thing that you may want to consider before you give:  If you are going to give to a local shelter, call them and find out what they need.  Many pantries get help from local grocery chains with some items, but typically things like toiletries ( deoderant, shampoo, etc. ) are scarce.  Medical supplies ( bandaids, etc. ) can also be hard to find.  

I hope everyone who reads this blog takes a look at where they can give back a little.
