Friday Roundup And Photos!

The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore

I thought I’d start today’s roundup with some pictures of one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen, Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, Italy. We were fortunate enough to have viewed this beautiful old church on our recent cruise to the Mediterranean. If you ever have the chance to visit it, please do. With the first stone being laid in 1296, the church took almost 170 years to be built. You’ll be amazed by it’s huge size and amazing sculpture decorating the facade. Gorgeous.

Carnivals, Links and More!

I was lucky enough to be included in several carnivals this past week. Here are a few of them!

Please check them out, along with the rest of the great articles submitted to the carnivals this week!  Thanks everyone!

Wow, that church is gorgeous. Why doesn’t anyone build anything like that now?

probably cause it would be prohibitively expensive with all the gorgeous statuary, intricate carving, gold inlay, etc. Plus, we wouldn’t have the patience I don’t think.
