A sensible man watches for problems ahead and prepares to meet them. The simpleton never looks, and suffers the consequences. Proverbs 27:12
This verse talks about the importance of planning ahead. if you plan ahead you’ll be able to meet the financial challenges that come up in your life, or be able to retire with enough savings in the bank. Without planning you’ll live a much tougher existence in the long run, and you will suffer the consequences.
Why not plan ahead? Start today by writing up your zero-based budget?

Zero based budget?
Honestly, I can do much better than I do. I have money to spare and am saving about $750-1000/month.
At the same time I do not believe that it will last like this.
Where do I start?

Once again good advise from the Bible! The bible has more scriptures about money than any other subject.
JLS – it sounds like you’re doing pretty good already, but you can always do better – I know I can!

Peter,
Thanks for the pointer.
I’ve been offline for over a week, but am back going at my blog.
Pray for my family. We just lost my older brother to cancer. He lasted about 7 weeks from the beginning of symptoms.
He left two children (12&6 yrs)and a wife.
If you have any pointers that I can send her way to help her out, please do.

Sorry to hear that JLS, my condolences to you and yours. Losing a loved one is so tough, especially when they die young with little ones in the house. I’ll pray for your family in this tough time.
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
