We’re heading out of town today for my grandmother’s funeral. Here’s a verse of comfort I read this morning as we prepared to leave:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
In talking with my mother, apparently my mor-mor (mother’s mother) passed away peacefully with my mother by her side. She would have been 91 in August. She lived a long full life, and she’s now rejoicing with Jesus in heaven. I’m excited for her, but sad for myself and my family.
It will be a weekend of celebrating her life, and of comforting one another. I’m already beginning to feel God’s peace that is spoken of in the verse above. Hopefully you’ll find that peace in your life as well in your hard times.
