In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:20

This gives us an idea of how God wants us to save for a rainy day, to set something back for safekeeping. If you’re foolish you’ll spend all your money on frivolous things, leaving nothing for the future.
