Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. Proverbs 23:5
When you don’t have money it can seem like the only thing that’s important. When you do have money, keeping it and getting more can seem just as important. This verse reminds us that wealth is fleeting, and we can’t take it with us. We need to store up our treasures in heaven, where things are more permanent, and our “treasures” can’t be stolen or taken from us.
