When I started this blog, I started with the intentions of using my research for this site to further my own goals of educating myself when it comes to the realms of personal finance, saving, and retirement. I wanted to be able to share the things I was reading with others out there who might also be interested in the things that I’m learning.
With the goal of furthering that personal finance education, today I bring to you another in our series of “free stuff” posts. This one comes in the form of an online college class from the University of California, Irvine. The class is titled “Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning”. From the class introduction:
This course is not intended to replace the professional financial planner, but to help to make the general public better consumers of financial planning advice.
Some of the topics covered in this class include:
- Your Financial Goals
- Figuring out where you are
- Taxation
- Defense – Keeping Bad Things From Interrputing Your Goals
- Investing
- Funding Retirement
- Funding Education
- Estate Planning
Hat tip to My Investing Blog for finding this one.
