“Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.” Proverbs 22:2
No matter what we have, or who we are, we are all created equal in the eyes of God. We are all sinners, in equal need of his saving grace. This verse is a reminder to me of our need for him, and to remember to have compassion and care for those around us as they are all creatures created in the image of God.
