Bible Money Matters
by Peter Anderson · 0 comments
After doing a bible study at my home church here in Bloomington, Minnesota I have realized just how important our finances are, and as a Christian, just how much the bible talks about money matters.
In an effort to document some of the things I have learned through recent studies, as well as trying to share those bits of wisdom with others out there on the internet, I am starting this new blog which I am calling Bible Money Matters
If you have ideas for topics you would like covered, or if you’ve got something to say in relation to one of my posts, please leave a comment. I look forward to your responses!
Today’s Money Matters Bible Verse:
Heb 13:5 “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.”
To begin our blog, I think it is important to mention how the love of money, and material things can become an idol in our lives. While I don’t think it is a bad thing to earn money, or to be rich, I do think that the more you have, the harder it can be to give, and as Jesus stated -”You cannot serve God and wealth” (Matthew 6:24) .
Matthew 19:24 “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
